The Express 30 racer/cruiser was built by “Goman Yachts”, of Midland Ontario, from 1982 thru 1985. The boats design was by Steve Killing, who made his mark as part of the C&C design team in the 1970s.

The Express 30 probably has to be described as a good club racer with a definite accent on performance, that is also comfortable and functional as a weekend cruiser.

What makes it a great club racer are these performance, enhancing features:

  • Its lighter than the average club racer/cruising boat in its size range

  • It has a fairly deep fin keel

  • A double-spreader mast which makes the rig narrower

  • A T-shape cockpit with seating that is nice on the but.

The Express 30 is very much a design which can double as a comfortable cruising boat. Some of these boats were built with an aft-head and a dinette arrangement opposite a full length settee/berth. Others have port and starboard settees and a folding table on the centerline, and a head located between the main cabin and the v-berth.
